News from Grade 2- October '08:

The students in Mrs. Harris's second  grade class raised Monarch Butterflies  from eggs to adults.  The release was very  exciting especially since the butterflies sat  on the children's hands before leaving.  After  releasing their real butterflies, the children  mailed their paper butterflies to Mexico.  They are participating in a Symbolic  Migration in conjunction with schools across  the US and Canada.  The paper butterflies  will be mailed to Mexico for the Winter and  then in the Spring the class will recieve another  class's butterflies in return.
